Plenty of live tournaments and online action to enjoy!

August is the month when even places with normal temperate climates can turn into unbearable hotspots and looking for ways to avoid going outside simply becomes the norm. With this in mind, it seems like the best month to stay in and play online poker while claiming an amazing $5000 poker bonus or go to somewhere cool and play in live poker tournaments. However, August has never been a big month for tournaments across the history of poker; mostly because it is just after the World Series Of Poker.

A Busy Poker Month Awaits In AugustAs the popularity of the game increased and more players were looking to prove their skills in large live tournaments across the world, more events became available. PokerStars introduced more stops on the European Poker Tour and also launched the Pacific Poker Tour in the Philippines, which meant that August was no longer an uneventful month.

PokerStars-powered action

The Asia-Pacific Poker Tour started in Seoul on March 14 and is now getting ready for its fourth stop, after Cebu and Macau. The APPT Queenstown Snowfest will take place in New Zeeland, will start on July 30 and will run until August 4 with the Main Event having a NZD$3,000 buy-in.

With the addition of a stop in Barcelona, the European Poker Tour now starts in August; more precisely on the 26th. The Main Event will take place in September and it will have a buy-in of €5,000 + 300.

Both these tournaments are sponsored by PokerStars and there are qualifiers available for online players that want to win packages to some of the tournaments across the world. Join the biggest poker site in the world and play for your ticket to fame. Needless to say that there are also plenty of poker tournaments available online and PokerStars leads the charge.

The smallest buy-in will be $100,000 and the first stop will be in Florida on August 26-27, 2013. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will be host to some of the biggest names in the poker world and the television cameras will make sure that fans get to see their favorite players at their best.

However the action at the Seminole will start a lot sooner since this it will put on the inaugural Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. This will run for three weeks and will feature 33 events from August 8 to the 29th. The championship event will have a guaranteed prize pool of $10 million, which is twice as much as any other tournament has ever guaranteed.
