GamCare says its 2025/26 Trustee’s Annual Report covers the final year of the voluntary levy system before statutory levy commissioning from April 2026.
GamCare has published its 2025/26 Trustee’s Annual Report, covering the period April 2025 to March 2026, which it describes as the most significant period of change in the charity’s history.
According to GamCare, the report is from the last financial year of the voluntary levy system, ahead of new statutory levy commissioning from April 2026. Margot Daly, Chair of Trustees, said the board’s priority was to keep service quality central during this period.
GamCare said independent Care Quality Commission (CQC) assessments found its National Gambling Helpline, treatment and outreach services to be “safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led”, with care focused on people’s needs and preferences. GamCare also said the CQC confirmed its services operate free from gambling industry influence, and that the Helplines Partnership awarded the National Gambling Helpline its three-year certification to the Helplines Standard.
GamCare reported that its education, prevention and outreach programmes reached 17,100 people, including more than 2,100 professionals trained to recognise gambling-related harm across sectors including health and social care, criminal justice, financial services and the Armed Forces. It also said its Helpline and online services responded to more than 114,000 contacts, making over 11,400 onward referrals into treatment and 17,700 onward connections to wider services.
For treatment, GamCare said people received a full assessment within an average of 2.4 days. It reported delivering more than 10,300 sessions for 2,811 clients, and said nearly 97% of people finishing treatment reported a positive change in their circumstances, with average gambling-harm scores falling from 14.4 at the start to 3.3 at the end.
What it means for players
GamCare said the National Gambling Helpline and its online services are available 24/7, and reported that support included onward referrals into treatment and connections to wider services.
